It’s time to start registering for our volunteer shifts!

Volunteering at the East 88th Street CSA is a vital and enjoyable requirement of membership. Each membership (full share) must volunteer at least twice during the 24-week CSA cycle, so check your calendar and sign up for your shifts online, or send an email to janestevens89@live.com (Please note: if you are splitting a share, you may decide to either elect a representative or both share partners may sign up. Each share must volunteer twice per season). Apart from producing the vegetables — Stoneledge does that! — our CSA is totally run by members so please bring some patience and a sense of humor when you come to pick up.

There are 3 time slots:

4:30 – 6:00 (2 Volunteers) – Set Up

* Setting up the tables and supplies
* Dividing half share items
* Checking in and assisting new members during pickup

5:30 – 7:00 (1 Volunteer) – Swing / Check-in

* Checking in and assisting new members during pickup
* Replenishing items

6:45 – 7:30 (2 Volunteers) – Clean Up / Heavy Lifters

* Checking in and assisting new members during pickup
* Replenishing items
* Bring leftover items to the church kitchen
* Put away tables and supplies
* Clean the site

We have an experienced group of volunteers so don’t worry about being left alone to do something you’ve never done before. Watch for postings and email reminders throughout the season. We do go back and make sure that all our members have fulfilled the volunteer requirement at the end of each season; failure to do so may hinder your renewal for 2011.
