There is an exhibit called Edible Garden at NYBG that looks really cool.  There is a food-related festival there this weekend.  Even the website: http://www.nybg.org/edible_garden/ is cool, with links to recipes sorted by ingredients as they become fresh at the Greenmarket.  Field trip, anyone?
