Dear Friends and Family,

I just signed up to take part in the Komen NYC Race for the Cure.

Please help support me in this important event by contributing generously to Komen Greater New York City. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund national peer-reviewed breast cancer research programs and breast health services in the five boroughs of New York City, on Long Island, and in Westchester and Rockland counties. It is faster and easier than ever to support this great cause – you can make your donation online by simply clicking on the link at the bottom of this message. If you would prefer, you can send your tax-deductible contribution to the address listed below. More information on Komen Greater NYC and its programs can be found at http://www.komennyc.org/.

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.  Whatever you can give will help it all adds up! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.

Sincerely,

Kateri Dupuy

Visit us at the New Amsterdam Market on Sunday, 9/13

Hot Bread Kitchen and the region’s finest farmers, purveyors, and producers will be selling their delicious wares this Sunday at the New Amsterdam Market in South Street Seaport.  If the food isn’t enough of a draw, it is also the celebration of the 400th anniversary of Hudson’s Voyage to the New World which will be marked with free boat rides and other activities.

The market gathers on South Street, between Beekman Street and Peck Slip in Manhattan between 11:00am – 4:00pm.

To mark the event, Hot Bread Kitchen offering seasonal, delectable breads.
Here are some highlights:

Fresh Masa:  For the first time ever, Hot Bread Kitchen is offering our stone-ground corn masa– the dough that we use to make our famous tortillas.  Pick up some masa and make your own tortillas, gorditas, tamales, and even papusas.  We will have a limited quantity, so stop by early. Prepared tortillas will also be available.

Trio of Challahs:  Just in time for Rosh Hashana, Hot Bread Kitchen is offering three types of challahs shaped in the traditional year-end crown shape.  We’ll have a sephardic challah with sesame and caraway, a traditional egg challah made with local whole wheat flour from the Finger Lakes, and a honey-sweet raisin challah.  You can pick them up Sunday and eat them this week or they’ll freeze beautifully for Rosh Hashana celebrations next weekend.

We’ll also have asiago and cherry tomato focaccia and lavash for snacking.
