Dear CSA Member,

Time is coming closer to the beginning of the 2010 CSA delivery season. We are trying to keep events, blog and photos updated on the farm website. You can find the first delivery day for your CSA under the Upcoming Events link.

The greenhouses have been filled, emptied and re-filled. Plants are going into the field as soon as they are large enough to transplant. The weather has been really cold the last week and so some of the more tender transplants have had to be kept on hold in the greenhouse. It seems that the plants are as anxious as we are to get them planted in the field.

We are trying to finish up member registration. If you do not remember what you registered for, please just send me an e-mail and I can easily check your registration and get a copy to you via e-mail. If you would still like to add a Fruit Share or Coffee
Share please go to http://www.chycsa.org/wp-content/uploads/fruit-coffee-share-2010.pdf. You will be able to download the form

There are still a few CSA memberships available at the following CSA Locations. If you know anyone that lives in any of the areas served, we would appreciate it if you would pass the good word along about CSA. There is a new CSA site located in the Bronx at 2158 Watson Avenue, Bronx Holy Family CSA. This site is brand new and is looking for members so if you know anyone that lives in the neighborhood, please let them know about the CSA.

92nd Street Y CSA
Mt. Sinai Farm Share
Bronx Holy Family
City Island CSA
White Plains CSA
Upper Westchester CSA (Buchanan)
Sustainable Hastings CSA

The lettuces, Bok Choi, Napa cabbages and garlic are growing well. We are looking forward to the start of the delivery.

Deb for everyone at Stoneledge Farm

Due to an unfortunate glitch, too many half shares were sold for the Yorkville site.   If you have signed up for  half share and would like to alternate weeks with a partner, please post up a comment here.  Alternating weeks means you would pick up a full share every other week instead of picking up a half share every week.

One full share is cheaper than two half shares.  Anyone who currently has a half share and agrees to alternate weeks with a partner will get a $37.50 refund.

Stoneledge is in its member-renewal period for the 2010 season.  For the Yorkville CSA, this period will last until Jan 15.  At that time memberships will be opened to the waitlist and shares will sell out very quickly.  Visit www.stonelegefarmny.org and follow the links for CSA registration using the username and password previously emailed out.  If you are a current member and need the login information, please contact us.
