Please give this to anyone who is picking up for you.

Here’s some information for people who are picking up for members at Yorkville CSA:

–You don’t have to let us know in advance that you are picking up for a member; just show up and give us the name of the member you are picking up for.  The member you are picking up for might be listed under an alternate name; there’s a list of alternate names on the clipboard, but it’s easier if you know the right name.

–Find out in advance which shares the member you are picking up for has purchased—full or half vegetable, fruit, mushroom, coffee. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DON’T TAKE SHARES THAT THE MEMBER HAS NOT PURCHASED.

–Pick up is at Church of the Epiphany, corner of 74th and York. We’re usually outside on the 74th Street side. If it rains long and hard, we go into the vestibule on 74th (we’ll stay outside if there’s just a brief shower).

–Pickup is on Tuesday from 4:15-6:45 pm. Hours for regular members are a little longer, but we ask that surrogates pick up from 4:15-6:45 so that we have time to help you and answer questions when we’re not busy setting up and breaking down.

–Please bring your own bag; we have some if you forget.

–Try not to handle or squeeze the vegetables.

–If you have to bring a pet, keep him/her away from the food.

–There will a list on the wall behind the tables that tells you what to pick up; the vegetables are on the tables in the same order as they are on the list.

–If you need help—just ask. There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable site managers and members around.
